KABUL: At least 28 Taliban fighters have been killed and 15 others were wounded during latest crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces in different provinces in the past 24 hours, defense ministry said.
The Ministry of Defense in a statement said that Afghan security forces conducted an operation in Nijrab district of northern Kapisa province, in which six insurgents were killed and nine others were wounded.
“The dead bodies of the enemy lift in battlefields and the operations are going on in the district,” the statement added.
The 22 Taliban insurgents, including four Pakistani terrorists were killed and six others wounded during an operation carried out by Afghan security forces in Arghandab, Panjwae, Mianshin and Arghistan districts of southern Kandahar province.
Some 17 IEDs, which were planted by the Taliban on public roads were discovered and safely defused by the Afghan forces. Also a factory of bombs and IEDs was destroyed during crackdowns, the statement mentioned.
