AT News Report-KABUL: At least 53 Taliban militants were killed and 29 others wounded in clearance operations conducted by Afghan army forces in southern Ghazni province during past two days. The operations were backed up by air forces.
Afghan army forces conducted clearance operations in Andarab, Abban and Khwaja Omari district of Ghazni, killing 53 militants and wounding 29 others, said a statement issued by Ministry of Defense.
A number of villages in Ghazni province were cleared from enemy forces.
Clearance operations will continue to pound militant strongholds in order to clear all villages from enemy and pave a safe and secure ground for people in the province, added statement.
Enemy planned to take the control of Ghazni province by conducting massively raids, suicide attacks and placing mine, but they faced to serious counterattack by Afghan forces and defeated, underlined the statement.
