Kabul: The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA) has announced that five people were killed, 58 were injured and about 665 houses were destroyed in nine provinces as a result of recent earthquake in Afghanistan.
On Wednesday, 2 Hamal, OCHA tweeted that the intensity of this earthquake was 6.5 degrees and these houses were destroyed in the provinces of Badakhshan, Bamyan, Parwan, Panjshir, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Samangan and Takhar.
The organization added that it has deployed assessment and response team partners to provide immediate assistance to the affected families.
Meanwhile, as a result of the severe earthquake in Afghanistan, the Taliban have also announced that more than 50 people have been killed and injured in this natural event.
Shafiullah Rahimi, the spokesman of the Ministry of Preparedness for Combating Natural Events of the Taliban, told the media on Wednesday that these people were killed and wounded in the provinces of Kabul, Badakhshan, Paktika, Laghman, Takhar, Khost, Baghlan and Samangan.
The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center, announced that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 on Tuesday night, shook different parts of Afghanistan.
