The US Special Envoy Dr. Zalmay Khalilzad making efforts for reconciliation in war affected Afghanistan has reportedly cancelled his trip to Islamabad. He made the decision in the light of recently deadly terrorist attack against Indian troops in Palwama district of Kashmir, which causes lives to over 40 personnel and injuries to several others. The deadly terrorist act resulted fuelling of tension between the two neighbouring but traditional hostiles India and Pakistan. So far war of words between New Delhi and Islamabad is in progress and the intensity is being fuelled with threatening statements and warning on the part of high ups from both sides. Though Pakistan has denied its involvement and role in Palwama incident but Indian media has made tremendous success of establishing Pakistan’s role. In fact, the militant group Jesh-i-Muhammad has claimed responsibility for the attack, is originated and operating in Pakistan. Its founding leader Maulana Masud Azhar is an international level celebrity in extremism and terrorism as he had earlier experienced imprisonment in India and had got release in return of a passenger hijacking act. Still neither the hijacker made exposed nor any action taken against them in according to international laws. The JiM is one amongst the terrorist groups, apparently banned on January 13, 2002 but internally this group is active like of other likeminded groups. Maulana Masud Azhar lives like Jumaat Ul Dawa Chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and enjoying full pledge government security and facilities. Zalmay Khalilzad while announcing cancellation of his trip to Islamabad has suggested Pakistan to take more steps against all those hard liners involved directly or indirectly in terror and violent acts. Almost hard liner groups, operating in the region are directly and indirectly involvement in terror and violent acts. They at time of need extending logistic and manpower support to each others. On such grounds, it is the time for rulers and policy makers of Pakistan and India to realise their responsibilities for handling of the situation very tactfully and carefully. The war hysteria between Pakistan and India at this crucial stage could put at stake the regional peace. Situation in Afghanistan is already touching its peak due to increasing violent and terror acts. Despite unanimous wish of war stricken Afghans, still some of the neighbouring and regional countries are hindering peace efforts being carried out by Ambassador Dr. Zalmay Khalilzad. Now it is the time for US led allies, United Nations and others to come forward and help the South Asian people of plunging into another era of war amidst continued acts of deadly terror and violence. Both India and Pakistan are in possession of nuclear arsenals and its ruler’s war hysteria could be harmful to people of both the countries. Instead of playing role of silent spectators, peace loving countries and individuals from all over the world must realise their responsibilities. Sanctuaries, training camps and seminaries, producing militants must be eliminated otherwise it could be harmful and dangerous to global peace.
