Kabul: Kandahar education department spokesman confirmed that they received a letter from the Ministry of Education to close all local educational institutions in Kandahar and Helmand province until further notice.
According to the letter, a delegation has been appointed by the Education Ministry to review the “projects and activities” of all educational institutions in these two provinces.
UNICEF, Save the Children and other international organisations operate schools in Kandahar, which have been affected by the ban.
