AT-KABUL: An Egyptian cargo plane landed in Kabul, bringing humanitarian aids and medicines.
The Egypt’s Red Crescent Society called the assistance as a sign of solidarity from the people of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the “brotherly people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan”.
It includes blankets, medicines, medical supplies and food items which be distributed to the most needy families in poor areas prior to the beginning of the winter season, said a press statement issued by Egyptian Embassy to Kabul.
The aids are to be distributed to the hospitals and vulnerable people through the Afghan Red Crescent Society.
Mohab Nasr, Egypt’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, called the aids as Egypt’s commitment to help the Afghan people and alleviate their suffering after decades of war and conflict, the statement noted.
The Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt has been assisting Afghanistan in various fields including training of Afghan police officers as well as providing scholarships and humanitarian assistance.
The Egyptian government always affirms its support to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan that can yield into development and prosperity throughout the country. The Egyptian government is also committed to enhance the well-established bonds of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
