AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) has seized and torched eight tons of hashish in central Logar province, said officials on Tuesday.
The provincial governor’s spokesman Saleem Saleh told Pajhwok Afghan News that the NDS operatives have seized eight tons of hashish in Al-Taimor area on the suburbs of the provincial capital. He said the NDS operatives later torched the drugs.
According to Saleh, the NDS operatives also recovered 300 kilograms of drugs on the Kabul-Gardez highway on late Monday. However, no arrest was made.
In a statement released by the NDS, the spy agency said that its operatives have also seized 460 kg of different types of narcotics in areas around Pul-i-Alam.
The spy agency also recovered a motorbike and 11 Kalashnikov magazines during the search operation, the statement added.
