Kabul: Afghanistan’s National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) announced that the process of issuing National ID card in Afghanistan has been resumed normally after reaching one million and 700 thousand new electronic ID cards.
The department said, a contract for printing Afghanistan’s electronic ID cards has been signed with a South Korean company.
According to media reports, these birth certificates are still printed under the name of “Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” and instead of “Ministry of Interior” “National Statistics and Information Authority” are written..
Also, the validity period of 10 years is included in the new birth certificates of Afghanistan.
“Mohammed Halim Rafi” the Afghanistan’s National Statistics and Information Authority spokesman said “We will also get one million and 300 thousand new electronic birth certificates from Qatar soon.”
The process of distributing electronic ID cards in Afghanistan was stopped due to the shortage.
