AT

Kabul: Since establishment of new administration in Afghanistan, a number of governmental institutions abolished, leaving their staff in an uncertain situation.

By abolishing the National Council, the ruling authorities have relieved hundreds of employees of this institution from their government duties and left them in a state of destitution.

These employees are now struggle with poverty and helplessness and stuck in the dilemma of leaving the country.

Meanwhile the 8sobh newspaper reported that the Taliban had dismissed dozens of employees of the state-owned oil and Gas Company and replaced them with new staff.

“After returning to power, the Taliban have abolished at least eight departments of the previous government. The Ministry of Women’s Affairs, the heads of the secretariats of the National Council, the office of the National Security Council, the Supreme National Reconciliation Council, the office of the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, the Ministry of Peace, election commissions, the Constitutional Monitoring Commission and the Independent Human Rights Commission have been dissolved by the Taliban.” the report says.

These employees, after a year of struggling to be re-appointed in government institutions, are now disappointed.

In a letter to the head of the acting prime minister, the employees of the secretariat of the former Senate wrote that “One year has passed since the dissolution of the National Council, we are in absolute misery and unemployment, and we have suffered from economic problems so want to go abroad to support our families, which requires obtaining a passport. We request your respected authority to direct the relevant authorities to distribute free family passports for these 342 persons.”

They say that they have not received any salary or benefits for a year, nor have they been recruited in other government offices.

Before this, the Taliban dismissed 379 employees and workers of the state-owned oil and Gas Company “Afghanistan Oil and Gas” without any legal privileges.
