KABUL: A European country refused to issue visa to an investigating team working on the allegations from female footballers over sexual abuse, officials confirmed.
Jamshid Rasouli, spokesman of attorney general office said on Saturday that the two investigators need to travel to different European states and interview with the former female football players living there who alleged of sexual abuse.
“The investigators are only waiting to receive visas to start their works, interview with the persons and organizations related to the allegation so that we have a law-based investigation,” said Rasouli.
Foreign Ministry also says that the investigators’ visa application was not responded by one of the European embassies in Kabul.
Khaleda Popal, a former captain for female soccer team in last December accused head of soccer federation of sexual harassment and abuse to some of female players.
Her allegation was followed by some other of colleagues in the soccer team, who claimed that Keramuddin Karim had sexually abused them, harassed them and threatened them to death if they unveil.
The attorney general office suspended five of soccer federation officials including Karim and put a travel ban on them.
More than 30 people have been so far investigated inside the country over the allegations, according to reports that say some of accusers have taken their complaints back, while some others are missing.
The investigation team has so far probed the allegations in 15 sections.
Investigations in Kabul include filming and photographing of the rooms and offices of the soccer federation where abuse was said to have been taken place.
