AT-KABUL: Flash floods in eastern Nangarhar province killed at least eight people and damaged more than 300 houses.
Head of the Red Crescent Society office in Nangarhar, Nangialai Yusoufzai, said that flash floods in Ghanikhel, Dur Baba, Nazian and Mohmand districts of the province have caused loss of life and property.
“According to our volunteer workers in the flood-hit areas, as many as 170 houses have been damaged in Ghanikhel district, 60 houses in Dur Baba district, five to 10 houses in Nazian district and 60 to 70 houses in Mohmand district,” he added. He said that at least eight people have died in the flash floods.
Yusoufzai said that the floods have also destroyed hundreds of Jirebs of land in the areas.
Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, the spokesman for Nangarhar governor office, said that they have directed the concerned organizations to provide aid to the affected people.
However, the affected people said that they haven’t received any aid so far.
