AT-KABUL: Unidentified gunmen kidnapped a female aid worker at gunpoint on Monday morning in Kabul.
Fraidun Obaidi, head of Kabul police criminal investigation department, said that the incident took place around 9:15 am in Qala-i-Fathullah area of Kabul city.
He said that they have launched an investigation into the incident and whereabouts of the kidnapped aid worker. He didn’t disclose nationality of the kidnapped foreign national.
However, foreign media outlets reported that the female aid worker was national of Germany and was working in GIZ.
No one has claimed responsibility of the kidnapping so far.
Another worker of the organization was abducted in Kunduz province earlier this year, who managed to escape after six weeks in captivity.
