KABUL – In a significant diplomatic meeting, the former president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, engaged with a delegation from Japan’s Sasakawa Peace Foundation, including Tadamichi Yamamoto, Dr. Atsushi Sunami and other distinguished members.
The gathering, attended by Takayoshi Kuromiya, the ambassador of Japan in Afghanistan, emphasized the historical friendship between Japan and Afghanistan. Karzai expressed gratitude for Japan’s continuous cooperation and assistance to Afghanistan, highlighting the importance of fortifying the positive relations between the two nations.
During the discussions, the participants exchanged views on the paramount significance of achieving lasting peace and promoting education for both girls and boys in Afghanistan. Hamid Karzai underscored the Sasakawa Peace Foundation’s efforts in peace talks and fostering understanding.
Addressing the assembly, Karzai stressed the need for national unity and understanding as crucial elements for establishing enduring peace and stability in Afghanistan. The former president welcomed the foundation’s contributions and called for collective efforts to realize these shared goals.
