AT-KABUL: Forty children treated in the Germany’s Peace Village Hospital returned home on Sunday, an official of the Afghan Red Crescent Society said.
“These children were suffering from broken-bone disease and it was not possible to treat them at home,” Mohammad Taib Yousufzai said. “After six months and one year periods of free treatment in Germany, they returned to Kabul.”
He pointed out that this was the 72th group treated by the German Peace Village hospital.
He illustrated that the treatment program for the broken-bone disease had begun in 1992 by the Afghan Red Crescent Society with the cooperation of the Peace Village hospital in Germany.
According to Yousufzai, the doctors of German Peace Village hospital regularly visit Afghanistan to specify sick children.
The families of the sick children expressed happiness for the treatment program by the Afghan Red Crescent Society, calling this “very helpful program” for the vulnerable families.
The German Peace Village hospital is a charitable organization that every year more than 100 patient children from across country free treated and bring back to their families.
It’s worth to mention since 1988 German Peace Village collaboration with Afghan Red Crescent has treated more than 3,350 children.
