KABUL: An airstrike pummeled Sunday a civilian house in central Logar province have left at least four civilians, including three tribal elders’ dead, officials said Sunday.
Adalat Abdul Rahimzai, the provincial council secretary, told Pajhwok Afghan News a house was hit in Padkhwab Shana area on the outskirts of Pul-i-Alam on Saturday night.
He identified the tribal elders as Afghan Aka, Ameen and Mir Mohammad. A villager was also killed in the overnight airstrike.
Provincial Police Spokesman Shapur Ahmadzai confirmed the raid and said an investigation was underway.
Rafiullah, a resident of the area, said the house came under attack in Padkhwab Shana area — located two kilometre from the provincial capital.
But the Ministry of Defence in Kabul said the dead were Taliban insurgents, including commanders Mullah Munir and Mullah Khadim. The rebels had link with the Haqqani Network, it claimed.
