AT-KABUL: Four Taliban insurgents were killed in their own mine explosion in the southern Zabul province, a security official said Monday.
Ghulam Jailani Farahi, head of the provincial directorate of security, said that the insurgents were killed while planting mines in Qalat city, the provincial capital.
Taliban mostly use improvised explosive devices in attacks against security forces, but usually take the lives of innocent civilians.
On Sunday, at least five civilians and four Taliban insurgents were killed when a rocket shell Taliban were carrying exploded in eastern Kunar province, the security officials said.
