AT-KABUL: A Chinese professor who wrote the first Pashto-Chinese dictionary Che Hongcai and Chinese ambassador to Kabul Deng Xijun called on ex-President Hamid Karzai at his office on Wednesday.
Che Hongcai, a 78 years old professor of Afghan languages at a university in China, granted a copy of the dictionary to Hamid Karzai. The ambassador presented Hamid Karzai with a book gifted by the Chinese president.
Hamid Karzai lauded the patience and hard work of the Chinese professor and said that this dictionary was a good step towards further expansion of relations between the two countries.
According to another statement, French ambassador in Kabul Zhan Michael Marlo, also met with Hamid Karzai. The two leaders discussed different issues of mutual interest. Karzai appreciated France for its support to Afghanistan over the past 13 years.
