KABUL: The price of fuel has seen a significant drawdown in markets of the capital city of Kabul as imports have increased.
The fuel companies and gas stations said that the price has dropped by 10 Afs this week compared to before.
“A few days ago, the price of oil increased and the price of the (US) dollar as well. The paths were closed and the fuel was not imported,” said Rahm Khuda, a worker at a gas station in the capital city.
The Chamber of Commerce and Investment said that amount of fuel has surged in the Afghan markets which also decrease the price of the fuel.
“It depends on demands products and demands of the market. The fuel has surged in the markets. The traders attempted to import a lot of fuel to Afghanistan,” said Mohammad Younus, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
The Afghans who are currently struggling with various types of crises welcomed the reduction of fuel’s price and hope it will also cause a decrease in the price of essential materials.
