AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Tuesday said it had arrested five kidnappers and freed a teenage boy held in their custody.
“The NDS operatives succeeded to arrest the group through an operation in the Shakar Dara district of Kabul province,” The NDS said in a statement.
It added that a 14-year boy kidnapped by them from Police District 10 of Kabul city was also released.
“The abductors had kept the boy in a well and demanded a ransom of $600,000 for his freedom,” it said.
The released boy was handed over to his family.
The arrested people have confessed that they had hands in different abduction cases before this, it said.
