AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Kandahar police chief, General Abdul Raziq, has criticized the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the National Directorate of Security (NDS) and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Raziq said Pakistan is fueling insecurity and war in the country, but claims to be an ally of Afghanistan.
Raziq is the most famous and well-known police commanders in the country, who has changed Kandahar into a secure province in recent months. He is famous for his merciless stance against the Taliban militants and also for his ‘shooting on the spot’ commands.
Quoted by Tolonews the other day, Raziq said such moves by the government affects morale of the security forces.
Reiterating his previous remarks on Pakistan, he said sharing Islamabad in the Afghan peace process is a mistake. “Peace is good for all of us, but we don’t want peace talks with the Taliban. It is a waste of time,” he commented.
He said that calling Pakistan for help in peace process and signing info-sharing deal with its spy agency is a mistake. “Such moves and the government’s pro-Pakistan stance have enabled Pakistan to bring war from south to northern parts of the country,” he added. “War has been expanded to 15 provinces while it was ongoing in five provinces in the past.”
The intelligence sharing accord between the NDS and ISI sparked criticism countrywide and was termed kind of comprising the national interests, pride and honor of Afghans.
However, the NDS officials said on Sunday that the deal was not finalized and they were working on its final draft.
