KABUL: The High Council for National Reconciliation said that remarks made by the spokesman of the President Ashraf Ghani over the formation of the reconciliation council has shown his lack of awareness from the power sharing agreement signed between Ghani and Abdullah.
Faridon Khawzon, spokesman for the high council said that Ghani’s spokesman Sediq Sediqqi didn’t have enough information about governance and power sharing agreement.
After a longtime disputed election results, Ghani and his main rival Abdullah signed a power sharing agreement to put an end to the months-long political crisis.
In accordance with the agreement, Abdullah leads the High Council for National Reconciliation, which includes five deputy positions as part of its formation. He would be also shared in 50 percent of the government’s cabinet.
Ghani’s spokesman Sediq Sedqqi earlier said that Abdullah has introduced a number of ministers who lacked necessary measures for the cabinet. “Some figures introduced by Dr. Abdullah is not beneficial for stabilizing the current situation in Afghanistan,” he added. He said that Abdullah’s cabinet was not inclusive.
A lawyer, Subhan Musbah said that the national constitution determined the measures for the ministers. “Based on article 72 of the constitution for the ministers, they should have Afghanistan asylum and higher education,” he said. “The ministers should be experienced, 35 years old age and have not been sentenced on charge of inhumanity action by the court, and have not been deprived of his or her civil right.
Meanwhile, the high council said it has introduced a number of ministers to President Ashraf Ghani with observation of constitutional law.
