KABUL: People of southeastern Khost province said that President Ashraf Ghani has failed in fulfilling the promises he has made with the residents of the province during his election campaigns.
Karim Jan Sabarwal, a resident of the province, told zhman.net that he was one of the active campaigners of President Ghani during 2014 presidential elections. “I now regret that why I did campaign for President Ghani, because he didn’t live up to his promises,” he added.
Speengul Mangal, another resident of the province, said that President Ghani had promised to build an international airport in the province, but he is yet to fulfill his promise. “Most of our people go to Gulf countries for work and they are faced with many challenges while travelling abroad. An international airport shall be built in the province to facilitate travel of people to the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait,” he added.
Shamsullah, another resident of the province, said that President Ghani had promised to build Ghulam Khan transit route, pay more attention to the Khost university and will provide electricity to the center of the province.
