AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: President Ghani who just traveled to Kandahar to pay to tribute to the assassinated police chief General Raziq offered his condolences to her bereaved mother of the martyred commander.

At the Mundigak Palace of southern Kandahar province, Ghani sought patience for his family and prayed for his departed soul.

He extolled the late commander’s bravery and heroism and extoled the grieving mother for nurturing such an exemplary, gallant, honest, and patriot son.

Earlier today, the President visited the tomb of General Raziq.

General Raziq, Kandahar’s police chief, was killed outside the provincial governor’s office on Thursday, when a bodyguard opened fire on a group of officials as they left a meeting with General Scott Miller, the commander of US and NATO forces in Afghanistan.
