AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A man killed her daughter and a young man believed to be her lover over alleged illicit relationship in the Yousufkhel district of southeastern Paktika province, a family source said Tuesday.
“The incident took place in Mashkhil village late Monday,” Sayedullah, a relative of the girl’s family told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The boy and the girl were found together inside the girl’s house and were shot dead by the girl’s father and their bodies were put outside the house, the source added.
Another member of the girl’s family said first the boy was stabbed with a knife and then strangled. The two bodies were handed to police two days after their killing.
The boy was identified as Salam Khan, son of Asmatullah Khan, Haji Mateen, a trial elder told Pajhwok Afghan News.
“He was the residents of Ginokhil village in Oman district,” he said, adding that the boy was working in the land authority department.
Police confirmed the report, however no one was arrested.
Two bodies had been brought to the hospital, Dr. Chinar the civil hospital director said.
Honor killing, and other issues of violence against women in Afghanistan is not a new thing, as on Saturday an 18-year-old girl has been found stabbed to death in their home in the Qaisar district of northwestern Farayb province.
Provincial police spokesman, Abdul Karim Yorish said that the women, Aqelah, had been stabbed to death with a knife by unknown person.
Anther, most heart-wrenching act of violence against woman was, when recently a man mutilated his pregnant wife’s genitals leading her to lose her unborn baby and nearly beat her to death.
The victim, who is in her 20s, said her husband launched the vile attack with a big wooden stick, cut her hair with scissors before shaving parts of her head.
Moreover, last Monday the Taliban insurgents shot dead a 19 years old woman over running away from her in-law’s home in Kohistant district of northern Sar-e-Pul province.
The incident took place on Monday morning in Bidastan locality of the district, provincial governor spokesman, Zabihullah Amani told local media. The victim was identified as Azada. “The woman fled her husband house after becoming a victim of family violence. Her husband was in Iran and she was beaten and tortured by her in laws,” he said.
