KABUL: The parliament called on the government not to treat subjectively with the case of Nezamuddin Qaisari, an armed militia commander in the north, who escaped a government operation aimed to arrest him last month after being released from government custody.
The lawmakers said in the parliament’s Saturday session that the government seems to somehow compromise with Qaisari, warning it would be against the law to deal with a fugitive criminal.
Qaisari is reported to be staying at a military camp home to German troops at the outskirts of Mazar-e-Sharif city, the provincial capital of Balkh in the north.
The legislators said that the law should be implemented equally to every citizen and nobody should get impunity.
The members of parliament warned that any deal with Qaisari would not decrease any problems, but would even add more problems.
The government expresses unawareness if Qaisari is staying at a German military camp in Balkh. Qaisari was a long wanted man by the government and security forces arrested him last year in Faryab province, his hometown in the north. But he was unbelievably released from detention and unconfirmed reports said that he was freed to campaign in favor of President Ghani in the September 28 presidential contest.
