AT-KABUL: Foundation stone of a girls’ school was laid on Wednesday in Sharana city, centre of southern Paktika province.
According to a statement, the construction work of the school will be completed within one year.
Paktika Governor Mohammad Elyas Wahdat during laying foundation stone ceremony termed construction of female school a great step in the fields of education in the province.
He said that addressing education challenges is the top agenda for provincial administration and it has achieved much achievement in the aspect.
He said that although most of the schools have no standard buildings, but we will strive to motivate government and donors to help this province in this element.
Governor also praised those people, who allocated their lands for construction of school in the Sharana.
Meanwhile Provincial Education Director Mehrabudin Shafaq said that the aforementioned female school will be built under the name of Bibi Khadija school, which will be funded from development budget of Ministry of Education (MoE).
He said that the construction work of the school will be completed in one year, which totally will cost 17,294,000 afs.
The school will be constructed with 16 classrooms, administrative rooms and other needed annexes, he added.
