AT-KABUL: The Independent Human Rights Commission office in the southeastern zone says that some 50 per cent people being held in the prisons of Paktia province were deprived of having access to defending attorneys.
The commission has said lack of advocates in Paktia prisons has caused the delay of inmates’ files and that they remain in jails without their crimes were clarified.
But prison in charges in the provincial capital of Gardez say a board of coordination was founded to facilitate speedy prosecution.
They say that most of prisoners’ files were put in delay in the Supreme Court.
Several of inmates say they are waiting for their files to be prosecuted for more than two years.
