President vowed to carry out deceased’s wishes
AT-KABUL: On the second death anniversary of Hashmat Khalil Karzai, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani promised to carry out deceased’s wishes.
Reaching to Peace, making education available to all, and keeping unity were the main wishes of Hashmat Karzai, who had worked hard in this aspect.
Hashmat Khalil Karzai, a cousin of ex-President Hamid Karzai and a respectable tribal elder in Kandahar, was killed by a suicide bomber two years ago.
President Ghani titled Hashmat Khalil Karzai as the “nation’s martyr” and order to rename a square as Hashmat Karzai square in Kabul as well as construct a school in the name of deceased Karzai in Logar province.
While praising Hashmat Karzai’s generosity, he said the deceased was always with people at any condition and struggled to help people as much as possible.
Chief Executive Officer of National Unity Government Abdullah Abdullah called Hashmat Karzai a patriot, who sacrificed his life for the country.
He said that we must learn from martyrs and follow our responsibility against the country and nation.
Hekmat Khalil Karzai, younger brother of Hashmat Karzai, said that late Hashmat Karzai was a patriot and honest man.
He said that his elder brother’s wish was to have peace in the country and make education available to all.
Keeping unity between different ethnic groups was another goal of late Hashmat Karzai, he added.
The second death anniversary of Hashmat Khalil Karzai was marked in Presidential Place, which was attended by different governmental officials, political figures and Mujahidin leaders.
