By Farhad Naibkhel-KABUL: Hezb-e-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar on Tuesday turned the heat up on what he called ‘a colossal election rigging’ and millions of forged identity cards and voter stickers having been distributed, and said he will utilize all possible means in a bid to ensure free and fair election across the country.
“We with the consensus of most political parties advise the National Unity Government (NUG) to heed the calls of the parties for free and fair elections,” Hekmatyar said in his address to a press conference.
He stressed that the voting must be biometric-based in a bid to guarantee transparency in the looming parliamentary election.
Criticizing imbalanced issuance of Tazkera and stickers, he said that the Tazkera and stickers were sent or distributed very less in some areas, but in some areas have been distributed more enough.
In some area the stickers and tazkera submitted to the candidates, who made the fake tazkera with stickers under the name children and dead people or even they used photos from net for making fake tazkera, he added.
He claimed that millions of fake tazkera, with stickers distributed.
Some figures inside the NUG by using governmental possibilities willing to orchestrate coming election in order to help their own candidates to find way in parliament.
He highlighted that the IEC itself confess to fraud, but under pretext of looting of booklets.
Expressing regret, he said that the Independent Election Commission (IEC) is mostly comprised of two teams, and the most commissioners were selected by them.
We want all tribes, ethnics and parties have their own share and see their representatives in balance in parliament, he highlighted.
Political parties will use peaceful ways to boost up transparency in election, NUG must stop unilateral dealing, he underlined.
