Kabul: One person died and 12 others were injured in a helicopter crash in Firoz Koah, the capital of Ghor province in west Afghanistan, according to Abdul Wahid Hamas, a spokesperson for the provincial government.
The MI-17 helicopter, belonging to the air force, was involved in a rescue mission to retrieve bodies from a river in Firoz Koah city earlier that morning when it was forced to make an emergency landing due to technical issues.
Hamas stated that one person was killed and 12 others were injured as a result of the crash. Additionally, an investigation into the incident has been launched, as reported by Xinhua.
