AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A suicide bomber, who was detained by National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives, said that he was received suicide bombing training on other side of the Durand Line, a term used to refer to the tribal regions of Pakistan, where Taliban insurgents, notorious Haqqani terrorist network have sanctuaries, and form there plotting evil design against Afghanistan.
In a statement, NDS informed that a suspected suicide bomber was arrested before to carry out attack in crowded area of Helmand province. Intelligence agency identified the bomber as Qari Syed Nabi son of Jilani who was arrested in Lashkargah city, the provincial capital.
“Nabi was encouraged to conduct suicide bombing in the province by a terrorist Taliban leader identified as Mullah Abbas,” the NDS said.
It furthered, “the would-be-suicide bomber was transferred to Helmand by Mullah Abbas to carry out the attack.”
It is worth mentioning that Helmand is among the relatively volatile provinces in southern Afghanistan, where the Taliban insurgents are actively operating in its various districts and often launches insurgent activities. Moreover, the Afghan security forces are currently engaged in counter-terrorism and clearance operations against the Taliban insurgents in some of the districts of the province. The brave Afghan security forces inflicted heavy casualties to the Taliban during several raids.
