Kabul: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan appeared before the Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore under heavy security, wearing a bulletproof helmet and escorted by bodyguards with shields.
Today (Tuesday, April 4) was the last day of Imran Khan’s bail and after his appearance in court; his temporary bail was extended until April 13.
Before this, the court had issued bail to Imran Khan until today and prohibited the police from arresting him.
According to Express Tribune, the court session started early today with the absence of Imran Khan. The lawyer of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan informed the court that Imran Khan is facing very serious security threats. He argued that two Prime Ministers have been killed in the history of Pakistan.
Imran Khan was injured in an attack last year during a protest march.
He is facing several charges and the court has summoned him several times, but Mr. Khan did not appear in the court sessions due to what he said were security threats.
Not long ago, a court in Islamabad ordered the arrest without bail of the former prime minister of Pakistan due to his continuous absence from the court.
The police tried to arrest the former prime minister of Pakistan, but his supporters prevented him.
