KABYL: Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani on Saturday met with the Indonesian Vice President Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, where Rabbani thanked the Indonesian Government for its special hospitality and efforts in paving the way for face to face peace talks between Afghanistan and the Taliban.
Kalla called the issue of, reconciliation, post war situation, and the integration of Taliban very important, the Afghan Foreign Ministry said in a statement sent to Afghanistan Times
Pointing at implementation of five recently signed agreements between the two countries, Rabbani asked for capacity building of mine workers and Indonesia’s investment on the mining section of Afghanistan.
Considering Indonesia’s good experience in elections, Rabbani asked Kalla to share his country’s experience with the electoral commissions of Afghanistan. Recalling commitments of Indonesia with Afghanistan, the Indonesian Vice President promised to send a delegation to meet with the electoral commissions of Afghanistan and to talk on how to cooperate in holding elections in a better manner.
