AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A number of insurgents belonging to the Taliban militant group and the Islamic State, which is also known as Daesh terrorist group have been killed during fierce clash erupted between the two insurgent groups in eastern Nangarhar province, local officials said on Saturday.
The provincial government media office in a statement has confirmed death of five militants during infighting clash.
The statement furthered the clash broke out in the vicinity of Ghulam Dak area.
At least three Daesh rebels and two Taliban militants were among those killed, the provincial government said in the statement.
Moreover, the statement informed of a Taliban militant who entered into the peace process in Dur Baba district by handing over a pistol, a AK-47 assault rifle, and three hand grenades.
However, the anti-government armed militant groups of Taliban and Daesh have not commented into the matter so far.
Nangarhar is one among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan, but the anti-government armed insurgent groups have recently increased their terrorist activities in some parts of the province.
On the other hand, both the Afghan and the US forces conduct regular and successful operations and airstrikes against the insurgents, operating in this province.
