AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar said the other day that the Haqqani Network and the Taliban’s Quetta Council (Shura) are still operating from Pakistan against Afghanistan.
During his meeting with the Turkish Ambassador, Atmar lambasted Pakistan for not taking stern action to oust the militant groups which are still receiving training in Pakistan and attacking Afghan security forces and civilians. Atmar added that the militant groups use their terrorism to achieve their political targets. He warned that stability and peace is impossible if the militant groups enjoy safe havens in Pakistan and launch attacks against people and government of Afghanistan.
He said the Afghan government supports peace process with the Taliban and the government considers peace process from different dimensions.
According to the spokesman of the national security advisor, Tawab Ghorzang, the national security advisor and the ambassador of Turkey also discussed bilateral relations and the peace process and the Istanbul process.
The Turkish ambassador reasserted his country full support to Afghanistan and in hosting peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban. He also reaffirmed the training of the Afghan female police officers.
