KABUL: Another round of the intra-Afghans negotiations is scheduled for April 14 in the city of Doha, the capital of Qatar, a source said Friday, after the first meeting held in Russia’s capital Moscow.
Omar Zakhilwal, former ambassador to Islamabad said that works going on for an inclusive talks in which politicians from Kabul and representatives of women, media and civil society would sit with Taliban negotiators.
The High Peace Council, a government-funded entity responsible to facilitate peace talks between the government and Taliban, said that the negotiations agenda was sent to them, but it was soon to say if they would send representatives to Doha.
Taliban negotiating team sat for the first time with a group of politicians from Kabul including former president Hamid Karzai early February in Moscow to talk about peace process.
The upcoming meeting is called the second episode of Moscow session, which the government rejected as useless because nobody from Ghani administration had attended.
Taliban have so far held meetings with the US for five times in Qatar over peace process. But the group has frequently rejected requests over meeting with the government of Afghanistan.
