KABUL: Iranian and Indian ambassadors to Afghanistan have reiterated their country’s support over Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace and reconciliation process, the National Security Council (NSC) said on Friday in a statement.
They said this in a separate meeting with Afghan National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib. During meeting Indian envoy Vinay Kumar, they discussed the Afghan peace process, lasting stability and correlation of peace and economic development in Afghanistan, the statement said, adding, they also spoke on the key role of Afghanistan in regional connectivity.
Both sides also shared views on Indian investments and companies in Afghanistan, and providing more opportunities for trade exchange.
Ambassador Kumar praised President Ghani’s reform agenda and administration’s efforts on economic development. He said India is key partner to Afghanistan.
Moreover, in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Mohaib discussed creating regional consensus on stability in Afghanistan. Iranian envoy affirmed his country’s support to Afghan-led and Intra-Afghan peace process.
