AT-KABUL: The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters have beheaded 10 Taliban militants in eastern Nangarhar province, said a local official on Wednesday.
Muhammad Noman Hatefi, the spokesman for the 201st Selab Military Corps, said that the incident took place in Achin district of the province when a group of Taliban came under attack by Afghan security forces. “The Taliban fighters could not resist security forces and escaped the scene, who were later picked by the ISIS fighters and eventually decapitated,” he added
Local residents also confirmed that heavy clashes between the Taliban and Daesh fighters are underway in the district. However, the Taliban haven’t confirmed the report yet.
Official in Achin district confirmed fighting between the two groups, but said that they were unaware of the beheading.
