AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Islamabad has given a green signal to easy the recent ongoing tensions with Kabul in spirit of a mutual respect and cooperation, but, however the country did not decide yet to reopen Pak-Afghan crossing points, the Pakistani officials said the other day.
Pakistani Foreign Office Spokesman, Nafees Zakria, said that at the weekly press briefing Pakistan had showed readiness to get past the ongoing tension with Afghanistan over sanctuaries of terrorists and reopening of crossing points.
This statement made public as the Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan, Umer Zakhilwal in his letter to the military leadership of Pakistan asked for reopening crossings.
Zakhilwal said, “In my letter to the Pakistan’s military leadership, I strongly hoped that the crossing points were opened today (Thursday) without causing any further unnecessary hardship.”
The closure of crossing points came after an order by the Pakistani Army Chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa on February 16 following terrorist attack on Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine in Sindh province, in which at least 90 people were killed and more than 150 others wounded.
