KABUL: Amir Khan Muttaqi and his accompanying delegation left Kabul for Turkey to attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum due to be hold on March 11th -13th.
The meeting is set to discuss the situation in Ukraine but Afghanistan would also be part of the agenda of the talks among the top diplomats and representatives of the country, the Foreign Ministry said.
“There will be talks with the international countries about Afghanistan and the acting Foreign Minister, on the sidelines of the meeting, will speak with the representatives of other countries regarding Afghanistan,” said Zia Ahmad Takal, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate.
This comes as the US special envoy for Afghanistan, Thomas West, announced in a tweet that he will be heading to Antalya where he will discuss the Afghan situation as well.
“I depart today for the Antalya Diplomacy Forum March 11-13. Thank you to Turkey for hosting, and I look forward to discussions with important partners regarding international engagement with Afghanistan,” he said.
