KABUL: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country is ready to work with the Taliban if they form an inclusive government.
Erdogan cited the remarks to CBS News. “Turkey’s approach toward women is quite well-known: women are present in every aspect of life,” he added. “Our views would apply to Afghanistan as well. Whenever women become more involved, more active in every aspect of life, we can support them if they would need us in healthcare, security, and other walks of life.”
He also denied Turkey’s assistance with the Islamic Movement of the Taliban in case the international community does not recognize the Taliban government. “If they will be accepted and recognized we can do business, but if not, we won’t do business with them,” he added.
Turkey earlier expressed readiness to run the Kabul after the withdrawal of foreign troops. This comes as the foreign ministry said in a statement that Kabul airport has been prepared all-type of domestic and international flights.
