Kabul: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA) says that Italy has contributed five million euros to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund.

OCHA says that 28 million people in Afghanistan in dire need for humanitarian aid.
According to UN statistics, about six million people in Afghanistan are facing emergency levels of food insecurity and are one step away from famine.
The United Nations has requested 4.6 billion dollars for humanitarian operations in Afghanistan this year.
