AT-KABUL: The Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) termed youth as the main victims of wars and conflicts in Afghanistan.
While talking to a session on youth’s role in bringing peace and stability to Afghanistan, The Minister of Information and Culture, Abdul Bari Jahani, said that those fighting in the frontline on both sides are youth. He stressed that youth can play an important role in bringing lasting peace and stability to Afghanistan.
“It is the duty of every Afghan to work for development of his country. However, the new blood of the country bears the greater responsibility to steer Afghanistan towards prosperity,” he added.
The session was attended by members of the science academy of Afghanistan, officials of the MoCI and a number of youth in Kabul.
Speakers in the event said that youth form more than 65 percent population of Afghanistan, thus, they called on the government to improve participation of youth in political, economic and cultural areas.
They stressed that the government should initiate programs to utilize youth’s energy in bringing lasting peace and stability to Afghanistan.
Some participant of the session came hard on the government for not paying enough attention to youth.
