AT Kabul: Japan has donated $2.5 million to help improve healthcare, clean drinking water, and safety for children in Afghanistan. This money will support children and families affected by emergencies and natural disasters.
UNICEF says this donation will also help spread important information about disease prevention and hygiene promotion in communities impacted by emergencies.
Right now, only 24% of Afghan homes have access to clean water and proper sanitation. This means many people are at risk of getting sick from diseases like diarrhea and polio. The new funding will help fix and build water systems, and teach people how to stay clean and avoid getting sick.
Japan has already given $1.5 million earlier to improve health for mothers, children, and young people in Afghanistan. The Japanese government is focused on supporting the people of Afghanistan during this tough time and mostly helped afghan community in the past.
