AT-KABUL: Thousands of residents and civil society activists of Northern Jawzjan province stage a protest demonstration against Pakistan.
The protestors expressed their support to Afghan security forces and slammed the double standard policy of Pakistan towards Afghanistan.
The protests come after a wave of deadly terrorist attacks in Kabul, cross-Durand line rocket attacks of Pakistan army and presence of Pakistani soldiers among militants in the northern provinces of Afghanistan.
Chanting anti-Pakistan slogans the protestors urged the government suspend its diplomatic ties with Pakistan.
The protestors in a resolution lent their support to recent stance of the Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum regarding Pakistan. Dostum said that the Afghan government should cut its diplomatic ties with Islamabad. Dostum added that this is not fight against local Taliban militants, but against the spy agency of Pakistan, ISI. He alleged that Pakistan army soldiers are also among those militants fighting against Afghan security forces in Afghanistan’s north.
Women were also among the protestors, who said that they are even ready to take up arms and fight against the Taliban militants along with Afghan forces. They called on Islamabad to stop supporting militants and sending its military officers to fight in Afghanistan.
