Kabul: Afghan authorities rejected recent statements by Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, regarding terrorist activities in Afghanistan, citing Afghanistan’s four-decade victimization by conflict.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid criticized Asif’s remarks as an attempt to deflect blame and justify Pakistan’s government failures. Mujahid emphasized the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s activity within Pakistan, framing it as an internal issue.
This follows Asif’s characterization of Afghanistan as a “source of terrorism in Pakistan” and his call for significant changes to border management.
He highlighted the need for addressing the surge in terrorist incidents and criticized the Taliban’s lack of progress, contrasting it with Pakistan’s efforts to address security concerns.
