AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh in a meeting with Afghan Minister of Industries Hamayun Rasa in Tehran said that Afghanistan has expressed its willingness to buy one million tons of diesel and 200,000 tons of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) from Iran annually. He said that prices of the petroleum products would be finalized soon.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Zangeneh after meeting with Hamayun Rasa, told reporters that they have discussed how much diesel Afghanistan wants to import.
He put the current export of diesel to Kabul at around 200,000 tons annually.
According to the Iranian oil minister, the negotiations between the two countries over the products’ prices would continue and Iran would present its proposal in the near future.
“Afghan officials are also interested in importing 200,000 tons of LPG. This needs to be finalized in terms of price,” the Iranian minister added.
