Kabul residents donate blood to blasts’ victims

By Akhtar M. Nikzad-KABUL: Hundreds of Kabul residents on Saturday stood in lines at government hospitals to donate blood to those who were injured seriously in the deadly explosions in the capital city.

Deadly blasts rocked Kabul City on Friday. First suicide attack was carried out in Shah Shaheed area, second in front of the National Police Academy and the third in Qasaba locality of the city.

Scores of blood donors went to the hospitals and mobile-blood banks on the streets to save lives of the injured people.

Earlier, the Ministry of Public Health asked the residents for blood donation.

Suicide attack in Shah Shaheed was the deadliest one which inflicted heavy civilian causalities. In the incident 15 were killed and around 400 others were injured.

Abdul Baqi Samandar, a human rights activist, said that he want to donate blood to injured.

He said that gathering of people from different tribes in the hospitals is a symbol of national unity which gives hope of peace and stability.

Ali Fakur, a resident of Kabul City who donated blood at a government hospital, said that everyone knows that Pakistani spy agency, ISI, is organizing the terror attacks against innocent people in Afghanistan.

“However, the responsibility is taken by the slaves [the Taliban] of Pakistan. Within past 24 hours, Kabul City saw three suicide attacks that inflicted heavy casualties on civilians,” he resented.

He said that they are donating blood to tell the Taliban that people are against them.

He asked the government to identify those agents who are working in the government but facilitating terrorists.

The former chief of the National Directorate of Security, Amrullah Saleh, said the government should mobilize public through awareness and unite them against Afghanistan’s enemies.

He also asked the government to explore effective ways for resolving the current political problem with regional countries.
