AT-KABUL: Kabul is going to host the sixth session of Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA), scheduled to take place on September 3 and 4, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
Shekeb Mustaghni, spokesman for the MoFA, said representatives of 70 countries and the United Nations have been invited to take part in the RECCA-VI. He said that conference will explore ways to improve connectivity between Afghanistan and the region through a number of economic projects.
He said that the conference will focus on economic growth of Afghanistan. “The sixth session of the international conference will be held under the title of ‘the Silk Road through Afghanistan’,” he added.
The Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA) series was initiated in 2005 – and held in Kabul, New Delhi, Islamabad, Istanbul, and Dushanbe.
The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) said that they have given their suggestions to the government regarding the conference.
Muhammad Yunus Mohmand, a senior official in the ACCI, told Azadi Radio that donors will pay more attention to improvement of industrial and agricultural sectors of the country.
