AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Local provincial authorities on Tuesday said that ten military and civilian officials have been detained in central Kapisa provinces on charges of corruption.
Police Spokesperson Mohammad Ayub Yousafzai told Pajhwok Afghan News that the individuals were detained on Monday by Ministry of Interior’s Heinous Crime Department Personnel.
Police chief, administrative and crime branch heads for Kohistan-2 district were among the detainees after the MoI delegation carried out investigations against them.
Seven more provincial administration officials among them were sin Mahmood Raqi, the capital of Kapisa. A source, meanwhile revealed that some security officials accused of corruption.
Provincial Council Head, Hussain Sajni confirmed the arrest of 10 officials by MoI delegation that came from Kabul. However, there have been no comments so far from the governor’s house.
Anti-corruption campaign of the government is underway. The government has taken important steps to overcome the cancer of corruption in the country. Many civilian and military officials had been arrested and sent behind the bars.
